What we do
The Tazkia Aarian is about free education for the unfortunate children. We are proving a free English and a Mathematic course for orphans and low income family in fun way and creative approach. We hope the poor are able to benefit most from this type of educational model. We also actively helping people who are affected by natural disaster and struggle with daily life.
Free English Lessons
English is one of the important languages for children to learn because there are several benefits that will be obtained by children including increasing self-confidence so that they can get many opportunities in the future, but in the education system in Indonesia, English will only be obtained by children when they are in Junior High School (SMP) education level, so we are called upon to introduce and teaching English to Elementary School (SD) children level.
Our free English lessons started on 10 July 2021 with 8 children from the area around Oesapa. These children are elementary school students (SD) grades 4-6 SD. This English lesson is held every Saturday at 16.00.
The teaching materials we use are a combination of Oxford Grammar for Schools Book 1 and Bright an English Class 7 Curriculum 2013.
The teaching method used in the class is adjusted to the topic being taught, but beside the explanations, the students also learn through games and teaching aids.
We are hoping that through this English lesson, children who are in elementary school can know English and are better prepared for more formal English lessons at the junior high school level.
Seroja Tropical Cyclone Disaster Social Assistance
For 3 consecutive days, from Friday (2/4/2021) to Sunday (4/4/2021), most of the East Nusa Tenggara Province was hit by a tropical cyclone.
The very high rainfall with wind speeds reaching 85 km/h resulted in flash floods and landslides everywhere, causing casualties, and causing material losses and even telling stories of trauma and grief for most of the people of NTT who were affected by the disaster.
The peak of a tropical cyclone that occurred at midnight on April 5, 2021, hit almost all areas in NTT and caused heavy damage to infrastructure. Many people fled to safer buildings such as churches and other large buildings.
As a Social and Educational Community, the Tazkia Aarian Project is concerned for all victims of the natural disaster that occurred and immediately provided basic food assistance to 55 families affected by the tropical cyclone, while the 55 families were spread across the Oesapa, Naibonat, and Belo and Oben areas. These foods assistance included; rice, instant noodles, eggs, sugar, cooking oil, instant porridge, and tea leaves, the assistance is delivered in 2 stages, namely on April 8 & 10, 2021.
Free Math Lessons
Mathematics is one of the oldest knowledge and is considered as the mother or tool and the basic language of many sciences. A child who studies mathematics diligently will sharpen his intelligence. According to experts, the child is quick to understand problems, devise solutions, and solve problems logically and systematically. In addition to formal schools, learning mathematics can also be obtained outside formal schools, such as tutoring places. The benefits of additional tutoring for child development are many, one of which is that it can help foster self-confidence and courage for children. In addition, it can encourage children to take math lessons to catch up.
Our free Maths lessons start on November 3, 2021 with 8 children from the area around Oesapa. These children are elementary school students (SD) grade 5 SD to grade 1 SMP. Mathematics lessons are held regularly every Wednesday, 17.00 WITA
The first meeting conducted an initial test to determine the ability of children. The material taught is varied, adapted to the needs and abilities of the children.
The use of teaching methods in Mathematics Lessons creates an atmosphere of learning while playing. The teaching methods used vary such as group work, independent assignments, games and teaching aids.
We hope that through this Free Math Lesson, it can help children gain additional knowledge apart from school. In addition, it can help to strengthen the material so that children get good learning outcomes.
Other activities
1. Covid -19 assistance
The Covid 19 pandemic that has hit the whole world has made many people suffer because of the loss of their loved ones, and also lose their jobs and uncertain income due to restrictions on their activities everywhere. The Tazkia Aarian Project provides basic food assistance to ease the burden on others affected by Covid 19, the people we help are in the areas of Oesapa, Kelapa Lima, Sikumana, Belo and others. We provide this assistance on August 21, 2021
2. Assistance for the Orphanage
To ease the burden experienced by the orphanage administrators, we provided assistance in the form of basic necessities and suitable clothing for the Attin Namosain Orphanage and the Syalom Belo Orphanage which were held on 19 September 2021 and 23 December.
The Attin Orphanage has 80 orphanage children and 12 administrators, while the Syalom Orphanage has 70 orphanage children and 4 administrators
3. Free Barbershop
Free haircuts are carried out to bring the Tazkia Aarian Project community closer to the surrounding community, especially children, because this activity is aimed at children and youth around the Oesapa area, this hairdressing activity was carried out on October 23, 2021 with 23 participants.
4. Workshop/Recycle project
The “becoming a technician for a day” workshop was conducted for the younger students participating in English and math lessons, they were taught to make simple bed lights and bells using used equipment so that they were taught to be able to reuse items that can still be used so they don’t just turn into trash.
